Other method, it's possible to rebuild the list :

local ind = 1
for i =1,100,1 do
      local namestr=finale.FCString()
      local s=finale.FCStaffStyleDef()
      s:Load(i)
      s:GetName(namestr)

      if not namestr:IsEmpty() then
         s.ItemNo = ind
         s:Save()
         ind= ind + 1
      end
end
