Thanks Chris,

You provided just the hint I needed to fix my problem. BTW, for some reason
attachments to posts in JWLua always get scrubbed in my browsers so I
couldn't read your script. But exploring the relationship between the
beatchart fullspan and the cell metrics music width gave me the answer. I
still don't understand what the fullspan numbers mean. Maybe someday I'll
figure it out.
