The pseudo code above will not work correctly if you have linked parts 
and the linked parts break system at different places than the score.

And in this context, the "For every page do:" is not needed. The staff 
systems would contain the info you'd need about where the measures are 
located.

I think there are a couple of things missing that prevents the merging 
of measures in the current beta. I can't promise it will be possible in 
the next beta, but I'll aim for that functionality in the near future.
