Wade, as I get it you work very much on your own, when it comes to Finale. I am on a Finale list since 1999, but I am not sure you would find that one interesting. However Jari Williamson of Gothenburg - Sweden makes free plug-ins, where especially one has saved my rear in writing a timpani part with tremolo notation. I think you might benefit from looking at these pages (2nd page accessible from bottom of 1st). There is a list and a facebook page associated to Jari’s project. This is not a ruse for collecting cash at a later point of time. Jari usually issues a review of new versions of Finale within 1 or 2 days, where he opens up perspectives of new features at a level way better than MakeMusic’s hype:
