There's a technical issue with linked parts, in that the accidental 
state can't be changed in just the score or the parts. This would mean 
that if the score and part don't break the tie over system in the same 
measure one of these will get a strange looking result.

One potential solution would be for the plug-in to add the accidental as 
an articulation and hide it in the score/part. However, the articulation 
show/hide state is one of the very few things that the PDK can't access.

There are several approaches I could take here:
1. Add the accidental only if there is no linked parts.
2. Add the accidental in any case
3. Add the as an articulation that the user need to manually hide where 
it shouldn't belong.

What do you all think?

It shouldn't be more difficult to support a grand staff than multiple 
layers. I'll see if I can come up with a practical UI that can support 
this as well as the suggestion from Ken and others regarding cross-staff 
analysis.
