The trouble with that is that it doesn’t [easily] permit the use of notes longer than ⅛. Jari’s method (the old-fashioned one!), or any one af a number of variations on it would be the best. Find a common denominator and enter the other barlines graphically. It’s certainly handy that you can treat score and parts separately. A variation on your approach would be possible if you take into account the common denominator and the longest note values you need. Jari has a plugin which not only hides barlines but also removes the extra space around them. In any case, you’ll need frequent rehearsal letters: consistent measure numbering won’t be possible!
