P.S. There have been quite a few ‘classical’ composers whose music has, in essence, multiple time signatures in different parts but which are nevertheless notated in only one time signature. It’s perfectly easy to read a waltz rhythm in 4/4 time or cut time in ¾. There may be times when it’s a lot easier to notate a section in a single time signature and phrase over the barlines.

Find a common denominator and enter the other barlines graphically. It’s certainly handy that you can treat score and parts separately. A variation on your approach would be possible if you take into account the common denominator and the longest note values you need. Jari has a plugin which not only hides barlines but also removes the extra space around them. In any case, you’ll need frequent rehearsal letters: consistent measure numbering won’t be possible!
