When you say "Give the 1st Trumpet its name", do you mean putting the 
part name text in the part with the Text Tool? If so, don't add the part 
name as pure text, instead use the text insert. When you're creating the 
text block, instead of typing any text on the keyboard, select 
"Text->Inserts->Part/Score Name" from the menu. That will automatically 
use the defined part names for all the parts.
